Hyundai's Veloster Coupe Concept headed for production... and America!

I like just about everything about it besides that ugly baby tooth grill and that puny little 1.6. This thing needs the 2.4 from the Sonata standard or at least the 2.0 from the Elantra sport.

Hyundai Veloster Turbo facelift tackles the Nurburgring [video]
Should be introduced later this year or early next year
The facelifted Hyundai Veloster Turbo has been spied stretching its legs on the Nürburgring.
The model is heavily disguised but appears to feature the usual styling tweaks including a new front bumper and restyled headlights. The changes are less noticeable at the rear but the car will keep its aggressive diffuser and center-mounted dual exhaust system.
Power will likely be provided by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 201 bhp (150 kW) and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm) of torque. However, there has been speculation that the engine could be upgraded to free up a few extra ponies.
The facelifted Veloster is expected to be introduced later this year or early next year, so expect to learn more in the coming months.

Hyundai Presents Revised 2015 Veloster in Korea with 7-Speed DCT, Fake Engine Sound System
http://www.carscoops.com/2015/01/hyu...-veloster.html
We wouldn't call it a full-blown facelift since cosmetic revisions are mostly limited to trims and colors, but Hyundai has revealed the refreshed Veloster in Korea.
The domestic market model sports darker silver trims on the outside and gains three new exterior colors, including a matte paint, while on the inside, Hyundai added two-tone color options for the seats, door and center console trims, and seat belts, a new sports steering wheel with improved grip, plus the company's latest Blue Link telematic system.
Most notably, the 2015 Veloster receives Hyundai's new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission as a replacement for the conventional six-speed automatic, said to improve both performance and fuel economy.
Hyundai's Flex Steer system that allows drivers to select between different steering-weight modes also makes its appearance on the car.
Finally, the Koreans added an "engine sound equalizer", an electronic feature that offers the ability to both adjust the volume and select from six different engine sounds, which of course, are fake.
At this point, and aside from the 7-speed dual clutch transmission, we still don't know how many of these updates will be present on the European and North American version of the facelifted Veloster.

Lexus Test Driver
I completely dislike the current transmission in that car: it revs way to quickly, doesn't change fast enough and it wastes a **** ton of gas. I will be surprised if the new transmission will function properly.
Don't get me wrong, it looks like a nice car, but it isn't the best car to drive out there. I am happy that I went from the Veloster to the FR-S.
