yeah, it this TT engine will be as easily upgradeable with some chip like BMW's TT, it will be real nice and fun to drive with AWD.

I'm going to the Chicago Auto Show next week, and will have this on my list of must see's.

$40k with options, does seems a bit pricey though.

At first glance I thought that to.

But what other cars with 360hp\TT\AWD are cheaper?

Good point. Very few, if any.

I was thinking about $40k with the Taurus badge right out of the box. The current Taurus isn't selling well since the name change from Five Hundred (which I preferred). Maybe, the new model will change that. It is working with the new MKS.

Guys/Gals, once you get past the name "Ford" then "Taurus" the price is ultra competitive if not aggresive. There is no other car with these credentials at this price. You have to jump to very expensive cars.
You get AWD
You get a TT V-6 with 365hp
Top notch interior from pics
A big, good size car
decent fuel economy

Comparing it to other AWD cars, the G37x, IS 250 AWD, TL-SHAWD, A4 Quattro, 3 series xdrive all look VERY overpriced, the G37x looking to be the most competitive. An IS 250AWD has 160hp LESS for the same price with options!!!! This murders the TL-SHAWD as well.

Looks aggressive except for the back; and the automatic shifter looks like it was plucked from the Hummer H2.

Finally, Ford should have offered a manual 6 speed option just like the Pontiac G8 GXP.

It's all good that we can play saint saying that "who cares about the badge, for a TT, 365hp AWD performance sedan, $38k is a great value."

However, I'll come out and say this: Call me shallow but if I am paying something close to $40k I sure as heck won't make it a Ford.

It won't be a Toyota either that's for sure (unless they bring back the Supra...).

Looks better than the new TL SH by a mile. And it just might have better perfomance numbers. IMHO Ford is coming out swinging compared to the rest of the (not so) Big 3.

Exactly. Hopefully the bugs if any get worked out and aren't major like transmission issues or anything else. I can't wait to see a modded SHO sedan hurt some feelings. Hmmm SHO vs IS-F lol.

The AWD MKS (non-tt) weighs a little over 4,300 lbs, so there's quite a bit of weight to pull around. It will be interesting to see what kind of performance the new engine delivers. Should be pretty good.

All the more reason to now. The current 243 HP variant can probably outrun this Taurus, which in all fairness Im sure the Legacy is lighter.

I don't think I am impressed with Ecoboost. 25 MPG is nice, but not amazing. The 340 HP GS460 gets 24 Hwy.

I wonder if Cosworth had a hand in the development of the motor considering their contribution with Ford Europe/Australia.. It would be great advertising to showcase the Ford/Cosworth racing heritage which includes "V8 Supercar" race series.. Amazing to see big body Ford sedans in a race series..

Nice enough. I'm hoping that one of my family members buys one with a Z-plan discount, then I can drive it occasionally too.

Well at 50% more cost you would hope so............

edit- the GS is RWD as well I think? Not AWD

Oh, that's a good reference point for the weight. The weight will dull the performance and fuel economy some, but still should be a very capable car.
