Very interesting video! At the end of the video when he switched from lead to lithium batteries (saved him 700 pounds), he ran under 11.5

I think it would be a pretty fun ride depending also on range. I'd be a bit anxious having all those Li-on batteries because of venting issues but it is interesting. No noisy motor-exhaust either.

If you are not a member of Electric Auto Association http://www.eaaev.org/ please join I am secretary of the local chapter here in NJ I have studied the Lithium battery and have never found an issue with the ones that Tesla uses it is the 18650 type 3.7 volt 2.6 amp hour I have been around this battery for quite a few years.
