Can't stand motor trend, road & track

Sad to see it go.
personally not a fan of Road & Track either, but R&T is not published by Source-Interlink.

Automobile and Motor Trend, however, are of the same publisher.

Not another one.. Source Interlink bought up all these magazines and now they are just shutting them down, what will be left?

I don't see why he can't pitch it to another publisher since this one is washing his hands clean of it.

DAMN so we are losing sport compact and modified luxury and exotic. This is soooooo stupid. They are gonna keep import tuner for the teens and we get nothing. I am happy I saved all of my issues. They will probably get rid of heavy hitters magazine also. Its lost its appeal quickly

Default Modified Luxury & Exotics Magazine

I know it's gone and that's the reason for this thread. I'm really gonna miss it. To me it was the best magazine out there. The very first issue I felt that the one mag for me had finally arrived. It happened reading the words of Craig Lieberman. He personally owned a few high end cars yet he gave props to Lexus. I knew then he was an open minded journalist. Not just because he liked our car....I just feel there is so much hating by other journalists they don't even take the time to see what the car is really all about. Most refer to it as an appliance, saying it it's good at what it does without a soul.
The other thing is most mags either go heavily into tech talk or bling. Not in between. Modified L&E was right there in between. You got that specs without hearing about how many washers were under a bolt. You heard a little about the owner without seeing his life story.
The pics were pretty good with enough angles to get the full effect.

WHen I saw that Lieberman had left the mag a few months ago, I knew the end would come soon. It came faster than I thought. The only mag left that's close is Heavy Hitters but it focuses on the car owners life story in their business as opposed to their cars. Many of them are guys who know nothing about the cars' build-up...they dropped it off at Will Castro or somebody, picked it up when it was done. These are guys looking for an extension of their *****...instead of being true enthusiasts.
I also miss Makes & Models. The write ups weren't that great, some were but at least the pics were nice and the models beautiful and classy.

More than ever I want to start a Lexus performace magazine but it looks like the magazine market is dead.

I don't know the reason but I can't believe sales were a problem. I never saw any issues sitting there past the current month at any store I visited.
I just know it wasn't quite the same after Lieberman left.

I guess the economic downturn should eliminate some of the clutter on magazine rack.

It was crappy. What was crappier is that I ordered a 2 year subscription 1 week before I found out. Same with sport compact car. I got burned. Now I am a forced european car subscriber.
