Question Auction Cars

Just a quick question, but has anyone here dealt with buying a car from an auction? The best deals seem to be coming from government auctions, i just saw a lx470 with 36k a 2005 ell for 7 grand, i mean thats a deal, but is there a catch? I am just curious because our next route for a car may be auctions because we have friends who have audis bmw's that they bought for at most 10 grand from auction and so far so good

i'm not too sure.. but if it's a drug dealer's car or something.. they might have ripped it apart to check for drugs or some ish.. but if it's in one piece, then that's a hell of a deal

^^^Could have been, it was a government auction somewhere in texas if i recall, so either drug dealer's cars, criminals cars, people who couldnt pay for them, or from other situations that popped up, the only reasonable thing i can think of is that the government ain't into selling cars

I used to go with a friend of mine who would buy cars at dealer auctions and rack up by selling them locally for fair market value. Great deals, particularly government auctions. For the most part, they are great deals because there is minimal overhead, but be careful because there can be any number of things wrong. Usually though, even after fixing, it will still be cheaper than a dealer.
