Ducati is a bit behind on the "super-naked sports."

They've had the Monster for a while, which defined naked sport bikes for quite some time. However, as time progressed, the Monster became innundated with competitors such as the Aprilia Tuono, Triumph Speed Triple, Yamaha FZ-1, Kawi Z-1000, BMW R1200R, Suzuki Bandit 1250, Honda 919, MV Agusta Brutale, and even the Suzuki B-King.

I think that, although stylistically cobbled and borrowed, it does provide something rather "exotic" over it's Japanese counterparts. Better? Not really. More exotic? Definitely.

 

I'm not how sure you classify a $14K bike as "exotic"....i guess throw in some ohlins bits here and their, sprinkle in a dry clutch vtwin, and slap on a Duc name? IMHO, this is like saying a BMW 335i is exotic....sure has better parts and performance with a higher price tag and a good badge in the front, but it's more exclusive than exotic. Now, if you're talking about the Desmosedici RR, that's definitely an exotic!
