after looking at this post, I asked a few guys that I worked with how much it costs to maintain their exotics, a couple 911's, a 360, a 430 and a Gallardo. With the exception of the 911, they all say roughly $8-10K a year with the way they drive them. So although we may be able to get a 355 for $70K, after just three years of weekend driving, that's $100K?
How much was that GTR and ZR1 after mark up again?
gtr you can get it for 100k now
but maintenance on the gtr isn't that cheap at all neither
No one has mentioned the 456, which in some cases can be bought for $60k. I still think it is one of the best Ferrari designs, has a big powerful V-12, and flies under the radar, because it is not as loud as some of the other Ferrari's.
Maintenance? Its got the Celica GTS engine and 6 gear manual transmission. I do my own oil changes and brake work. Owners who do bring it into the dealer for easy work like this complain about the cost of maintenance but I guarantee it does not come close to a Ferrari's costs.
Knew someone many years ago that had a very good Testarossa kit on a Pontiac Fiero including the interior all the way down to the VDO gauges. He got plenty of action from the ladies so the point is, if you have a Ferrari, you do not need performance so who cares if another car is faster. That is only for the forum stat boys-at home, typing away on the internet while a Ferrari owner is having a great time in his Fiero. He still had the V6 and the car was heavy so looks had to go a long ways for the car- himself also.
