Post Volvo free maintenance 2009 models

Did anyone see the new commercial. Buy a new 2009 Volvo and get free maintenance 3/36k

Then they had a new lease deal for 24months on the S80, $419 a month with 3k down.

The S80 is brand new but outside the first month, has sold poorly, with no market penetration. Its a very good car and actually offers a V-8 now

Sad.

Free oil changes, but it doesn't cover brakes etc like the BMW plan.

Don't mind. BMW's plan would encourage liberal use of the brake pads which wastes them unnecessarily and wastes fuel (if you have to brake that much....).

Yes, it's a good car, with a lot of safety features, but it drives like something out of a dentist's office......shot full of novicane. It has about the numbest and deadest steering of any recent car I can remember reviewing, next to that of the older Saturn VUE and is electric power-steering motor.

It was some time ago, but I don't remember much difference in the settings. Same with the three suspension settings, though it was hard to get it into the firmest setting at lower speeds.

I didn't play with the power steering assist settings but I thought there was some difference between comfort and sport. Sport felt like a TSX setting, whereas Comfort was more like the tC or a typical "comfortable" Euro-tuned setting.
