It didn't start with the IS250. MY old IS300 had a TRAC OFF button and light that (supposedly) disabled it.

When you see what new rear tires cost, you might decide to stop abusing them............and your transmission.

I know I only did this twice. $225.00 a tire. The tires they put on the car only last 10K and they even have a sticker on the rear window warning you about this. Too bad I missed it! The Michies they put on the ES last around 20K.

The reason its mentioning the off button is for VDIM the 250 never had VDIM before as for 07-08 you can shut off vsc 09 VSC and VDIM.

VDIM basically creates seamless operation of all the safety aspects of VSC, TRAC, ABS, Brake Assist and the Electric Power Steering all in one time. The operation to disable it is still the same by holding down the TRAC OFF button for 5 seconds. This really shouldn't be called VDIM off as you're only disabling VSC and TRAC.

VDIM is finally added to the IS250 as the IS350 was the only IS to have VDIM originally.
