this is one of the rare times when i say damn must be nice to have that car. first mod.......remove the exhaust run from the downpipe, well thats what i would do.
yeah im in atl at the moment. and for now, the bigger problem is dealing with break in...
I know a lot of folks believe in the typical easy break in...but why don't you do the hard break in? I've seen cars from the factory that went through the hard break in and end up being a bit stronger than a same car that went through the easy break in.
Doing a hard break in makes the piston ring seal much better than your easy break in...

truth is, the engine is pretty much broken in at the factory. after being built, each engine is bench tested for some time (close to an hour with nine of those minutes at redline iirc) and then dynod with the results saved. the car is dynod as a whole as well. after everything is together the car does 9 laps of nissan's test track and if all is well, it's released.
but, nissan still insists that the car should be broken in as they describe. and the thing is, the car features two data recorders - one a crash data recorder the other is a status recorder. the latter of the two is always on. so even if i wanted to do a hard break in, it would likely be grounds for voiding warranty at the first service (1k mi)...

Makes sense. You can't go wrong following the maufacturers break in recommendations. They engineered, manufactured and warranty it, and should know what's best..
