Acura's Anthrax RDX and Anthrax MDX are not selling though...

BMW could sell turds with roundels.

Depends on where they price it, what kind of incentives it has, and what it actually goes out the door for. Kias normally have a price advantage over other brands to start with, if people will actually go into a Kia showroom. That has traditionally been one of Kia's problems.....getting people in the front door. Even its own corporate brother (and owner) Hyundai has been taking a lot of Kia's potential sales. You could stick a Kia dealership in the middle of the Sahara desert, and many travelers wouldn't even stop for water.

While it is obviously not a Suburban, nevertheless, the body-on-frame design of the Borrego also bodes well for hard work, off-road conditions, and towing, in an age when most SUV's this size have been converted to a car-like unibody. And, while truck-based SUV's (and many car-based ones at that) have a well-known thirst for gas, if the Borrego is priced low enough, the difference between its selling price and some of its competitors will buy a fair amoung of gas, even at $4.00 a gallon.

Yeah thats true, I was at the DC auto show a lonnnng time ago (when the current gen Viper was introduced) and the place was packed, no place to sit or anything. But we had lunch inside a KIA at their corner, while having fun playing with their manual shifter, with not a soul around.

There are so many ways to go with this post, I can't even choose which smartass remark I want to make

Acura should change its slogan from Advance to Anthrax

Don't ask what made me decide to google 'bmw turd' but this came up...

urban definition of turd polishing.

The act of trying to make something hopelessly weak and unattractive appear strong and appealing. An impossible process that usually results in a larger, uglier turd.
Reminds me of some cars! (I'm thinking BMW X6 maybe or maybe the new Acura TL)

OK, sorry...

As for the Borrego, I like the exterior styling, but the interior needs some wood accents to make it look less cheap.

Why does it just scream Ford? A slab with a oval badge? Maybe a Chrysler Aspen, they don't sell very well either.

OK I get it, they name it for a geographical region like Malibu, Durango, Bel Aire, Del Rey, and Cordoba - not to mention the obvious New Yorker.

It won't be long before someone renames it Borracho. If Lindsay Lohan doesn't need the spokesmodel gig, I'd suggest maybe Amy Winehouse. "I drove myself to Rehab in my Borracho!"

OK I feel better now . . . .

What's nice about the Borrego V8 is its EPA rating on highway matches that of the Tahoe Hybrid - 20mpg. That's pretty impressive that a V8 is producing similar numbers to a hybrid V8.
