What do you NOT like about Lexus?
i must have missed the bmw 1 series argument somewhere else...which is why ill continue it here
lol
let me just say...the 1 series is crap. Nobody can fall in love with such an ugly car. i mean, theres ugly special (where people turn to love it), and then theres Pontiac Aztec ugly...that would be where the 1 series fits in.
there is absolutely no need for a 1 series. it costs just as much as a 3 series with options and you get 3 less seats. its a poor mans bmw coupe. that is what it is, and nobody can change that.

I wish they would continue on their path of keeping things moderately simple (for a lux brand), only used tried and true technology, and stop letting their quality and reliability slip like it has been in some ways recently.
Also, along those lines, If they could make a Lexus 10 years ago that barely would develop any rattles after 100k miles... why does it seem like many of the ones these days are much worse?
I disagree with those saying they need to make sportier vehicles. Lexus does a good job of making smooth high quality cars, some with more sportiness than others, but short of them making -F variants of their cars, I hope they don't try to make any of their vehicle designs natively compete with anything from BMW. Let BMW do what BMW is good at and let Lexus do what Lexus is good at.
Other than that my only complaint is with the dealer here that pretty much acts like if you ask for anything under sticker you're a lunatic.
They're far too full of themselves.

And Lexus has been an innovator in easy to use technology like their nav systems and other ergonomics, but they're falling RAPIDLY behind now. Sure the LS has a hard drive but it and the rest of the line has the worst voice recognition in the luxury brands. They don't have ipod connectivity. The new Cadillac CTS does the tivo thing for the radio which is COOL.

Okay my points
1. This is personal preference but no design has really said BUUUUY MEEE like the older cars. THey look good but I flip flop with the designs.
2. More hybrids. Why only 3 thus far. I would like to see IS/ES/GX/LX entire lineup hybrids
3. More coupes. I don't know how Lexus has only had one coupe and a small, weird looking 70k one at that for so long. Not even a SC 300/350....
4. More "F". The IS is the first so I really really hope more "F" cars come. Without it the brand will remain staid and oldish to people.
5. Evaluate employees. IMO, some are complete snobbish *******s. There is a huge disparity between dealerships sometimes.
6. Maybe me a 2 sedan lineup for the GS/LS like the IS/ES.

If I had the power to change some things with Lexus as of today, it be to take some of the "old world" luxury feeling out of the brand. Sometimes I feel like the new LS and ES are glorified Japanese Buicks. Though very nice Buicks but just Buicks. I wish Lexus would return to what it use to be back in the nineties. I think the Lexus brand had more passion with the original SC coupe and the second generation GS. In order to put more passion into their vehicles they would need to:
-Create a GS with a little more sport in it.
-Infuse a little more sport in the IS i.e. make the sport's suspension standard
-Make a dedicated coupe, similar to the original SC with a V6 option as well
-Create a dedicated convertible to slot below the SC coupe
-Create an ultra luxury coupe, similar to the CL
-Put hybrids in the entire line-up
-Create a platform for the ES that is separate from the Camry
And finally let the customers customize their car a little better instead of having certain parts of the country with certain options available.

suprised no one mentioned this, but how about cheaper services at the dealer. other then that and maybe imporve the quality to what it once was, thats all i can think off. before i would have said try to differentiate it from toyota more, but now many people compare lexus to bmw and mb, what is what i wanted and those who don't either don't like cars, are rednecks, so to them and japenese car is the devil, and those who havent ridden in one
I think upscale brand like Lexus should provide owners with updated navigation disks for free or for a small fee. I would think they would want us to have the newest software in our cars. Having to pay almost $300 is ridiculous. I think that if they did that it would really show that they care.
number 5 on 1sicklex about the snobs.
new sc that is sporty, has a manual tranny option.
special order
interior on ES is crap
if they're gonna make a new sc in convertible only then count me out.
I don't own an ES but i got one as a loaner. I like the look and power but the interior felt like i was in chevy or something. I considered getting one until i got the loaner.

-New SC430.
-New ES350 Interior.
-Bring back yellow fogs.
-Make the LX and Land Cruiser more different. Interior is very different but the exterior should be too.
-Bring an extremely fuel efficient car to the market. I really liked the idea of that April Fools Joke. :P
-More different options/customization options.
-More sport upgrades. Something like DINAN which can be done in the dealer. But unfortunately, that'll take a while.
-More variation between hybrids and nonhybrids. Simply putting a blue h and other small chrome pieces around the car is not enough. I am not too sure if I like the blue tinted taillights on the new hybrids.
-Have a lineup which have similar traits that can be associated with Lexus. BMW does this very well. They have this with the IS/GS/LS. Now its time for the rest of the lineup.
-More Rim selections.
-More Engine variations.
-More AWD.
And most importantly:
-Being called a fob because I am obsessed with Lexus :P
But seriously guys, when I am looking at most of the list as well as mine, we are just demanding more types of cars, engines, transmissions. We have come a long way in the past 20 years.

also agree on the yellow fogs and tighter steering.
