The magnetic control suspension is no joke. WAY more sophisticated and capable than the competition. I believe Audi's R8 also uses it (licensed from GM).

Amazingly the A4 is now huge for this glass too, at 185 inches in its new bodystyle.
I find the CTS a level above the G35/TL and nearly on par with the 5/GS/E....

WOW , wished I didn't see those pictures of the three cts-v cars !
Now I really want one !!! I test drove the new is-f two weeks ago and may consider it next year , but unless the 2009 cts-v car is WAY out of my price bracket , I will have to settle for second best .

Fast means nothing if the car is not well engineered or unreliable. The last-generation CTS-Vs had the unnerving habit of chewing up their differentials....a major, expensive item if not under warranty, and a major inconvienence at best even if warranty-covered.
The new CTS, in general, is a much better car than the old one in many ways, especially in fit/finish...it is one of GM's best new products. ( I reviewed two non-V versions but have not driven the new V). Let's hope, with the new V model, that they've done better durability testing this time on the drivetrain.

As far as I know , the new cts-v sports a tremec - 6060 manual transmission with a new dual clutch set up . The diff's and the independant half shafts come from the corvette's side of engineering , so durability should not be problem . I better stop dreaming about this car or else I'll take a second mortgage out !!!

The CTS-V was Cadillac's first attempt at a true luxury sports car. Yes, there were issues. They've been resolved..

Gonna clean up a little bit on the drivetrain details.
It's just a twin-disk clutch at best; and uses a vastly improved T56: the TR6060. The auto-trans *should* be the the 6L90 (what's found in the 3/4 and 1 ton gassers)
The rear end *should* actually be different than the corvette. The mistake with the last gen CTS-V was that it took a C5Z rear, and de-transaxled it, making it a rather weak part in addition to poor geometry and subframe design. The new rear should be more in line with the Holden rears so they will kick plenty of rear.
