I saw two of these on a trailer parked in a gas station it was too bad I was doing 60 MPH when I sighted these in Ramsey NJ. I went to the Toyota website to verify my sighting. several months later I saw four on a car carrier on the NJ Turnpike. They were all white in color and no EV markings. I recently found out that the Toyota parts depot in NJ had some my source would not sat the quantity they had.
i got to drive one when i worked at the dealer (belonged to the Santa Monica Mountain Conservancy) and from what I recalled it sat in the service lot for periods of time. Since I own a 96 RAV4, it was definitely interesting to drive the EV and feel the obvious differences. I remember I got to drive the customer's EV to another tire shop to get new tires, in which they used slightly narrower tires than the regular RAV4s (215 vs 195 16s). From what I know, Toyota took back most of them; a few utilities still have them in their fleets.
HAs anyone ever seen one of these in person? Ive only heard of these on the internet and supposedly only about 1500 were made in TOTAL.
Im curious as to where I could find one because I would DEF buy this rig for the gas mileage and park my LS's.
I would just get the gas version 02 Rav4. I bought mine new & still enjoy it. Has only 32k on the clock at present.. Timeless styling & excellent gas mileage (runs on regular) for around town driving.. Here it is.

I was lucky enough to see one on my vacation to California. In fact, I talked to the owner! He was dropping by at Fry's in Palo Alto with his family (see it's a family car). I watched him pulled into the EV Only parking spots. He was debating whether to charge or not charge the car while he shopped lol. I think he did end up charging. Why not eh?
He's a friendly guy. Loves his RAV4 EV of course. They're the only EVs left in the US. The EV1 was crushed as you guys know and I think the Ranger EV suffered the same fate. Does about 100 miles to a charge now. Still going strong after 4ish years.
