I'm not saying the TL is a thing of beauty. I'm just trying to say I don't think it's that bad. I don't like the front or the back from the pics I've seen. I think the side is fine. My comparison there was to say if the TL is "one of the worst creations of anything, let alone a car ... disgusting" then it has lots of company that isn't far off. I think the 3GS looks ok in black, just as the TL probably will.

 

Hmm .. beside the TL front end. I do not mind that car at all.

We all agree that the front end of the TL is not the best looking but to want to throw is a little extreme do you think?

Just heard today at work that we're going to start offering body color grills for the TL like the one shown above. I think next year Acura will do the same from the factory.

I think people should hold some of their judgment until they've seen the new TL a lot in person. I've been around it now for over a month 8 hours a day and it has really grown on me. I really love it now and I wasn't as positive about it at first either. In person, the back of the car is among the best looking cars ever made. I'm not kidding. It's easily the most modern looking car on the market including the interior.

Also, let's not judge sales of a model in one of the worst car sales months ever.

Except on those vehicles the "kink" or flare looks fairly cohesive. On the TL, it looks completely out of place. Look at all the lines and cuts on the car very carefully; the kink or bump on the front fender does NOT fit in.

 

OK, I saw a TL on the road today (only from behind). And... ok, the rear looked 'odd'. Gigunda... Don't like the quad square exhaust tips either.

 

Are you sure the one you saw had quad exhausts? The quad exhaust setup is exclusive to the TL-SH-AWD which doesn't go on sale until sometime in November.

 

Well seems those painted beak pics not only made it throughout the internet but to Acura, who is pretty pissed grills are being painted by dealers not 2 weeks after the cars have arrived.

Dealers got an internal memo to "NOT PAINT OR MODIFY THE GRILLS THIS IS THE NEW FACE OF ACURA". The memo also stated it will take time for people to get used to the beak.

This is exactly what I said when the painted beaks came out. It totally defeats the entire purpose Acura is trying to do here.

The designers must be flipping out.

I think most would agree it looks better painted. It defeats the entire purpose of Acura designing that grill and another blow to this company and the decisions they make. Acura as I stated, does not want this to be done by dealers (and probably owners).

You paint the grill, now you have a bunch of Accords driving around.
