It really isn't. As I've pointed out, there are rarer cars out there that aren't exactly touted for being awesome because they are rare. There are also plenty of cars out there that only sell 1500-2500 units/yr period that we aren't exactly drooling over. As I stated, there is also the issue of whether or not rarity should influence the buying decision. That's simply a nonissue for me. Obviously, some disagree.

Again, I said driving experience. You're talking numbers.

Bingo! Some things you just can't get on paper.. Got to drive both cars for himself. I am sure both cars will vary in driver feel. I could care less if I will be 1 of 5 people on the planet with a certain vehicle. If you are one with a bloated ego, then the rarer vehicle fits the bill. It all depends on what you seek.

As to the question of driving experience of both cars under consideration, this is a good bit to watch.

M3 = 2nd rate now before it even came out.. I wouldn't choose one over a 335 that I can mod up quite easily to the same levels of power.. On a video they used a new M3 and burned off it's tires to warm up a wet track so that they can test the GTR. Talk about disrespected.

The solution to the original guys problem is to simply have a 2 year lease on the M3 this year and save up to purchase the GTR later. 2nd year model has more bugs worked out and who knows by that time you might be itching for the spec V that should be out.

And people get M3's because they are humble yes?

Looks like I am just going to wait for the GTR. Everytime I see this car, it just blows me away.

Some of you are right. I will regret it if I get M3 and everytime I see a GTR driving pass by.

Leasing a M3 doesnt really make sense to me. I think the payment will probably around 1200$ range, or so. BMW doesn't really offer great lease rate on M3 at this point.

I haven't driven GTR myself, but I have driven M3, and it's brilliant! I will just have to wait and see what GTR can bring out.

The GTR would appeal to me much more because of its incredible performance
and rarity. I would wait for the VSpec though

you will only regret it if you get the M3 IMO
unless you plan on selling it and getting the GTR say 2 years down the road

I'm sorry but I just can't wait to meet one on the highway. Finally more cocky drivers.

On that note I'm a patient person and I will wait. See what Toyota and other companies come out with. Hopefully it'll be something like 300ZX vs Supra vs RX7 vs 3000GT.

Doesn't that make you cocky too? jk

I just cruise on the road, and I don't like to race.
