Default 05' vette: what were the performance stats?

1/4 mile and 0-60 does anyone remember that? There is one at Lexus of Las Vegas. It is orange metallic I guess. It looks pretty sweet.

I think 0-60 is 4.1-4.4s while 1/4 mile I think is in the 12 something second range.

Surprisingly, you also get 30mpg on the highway. Plenty of videos on youtube.

I've got a 2006 in the exact same orange color. It's called Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic, and it's kind of a reddish-orange. They switched to a new color called Atomic Orange in 2007, but I like the old orange better.

I bought my car about 11 months ago after I sold my GS400. I can't explain how much I love this car. The color is great too, I never get tired of it.

You can find almost anything you need to know about corvettes at:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=74

That's the link to the C6 section that covers 2005-2008 Vettes. I would also be happy to answer any question you might have on the car

The car will do 0-60 in about 4.5 seconds, although I have seen faster times in some publications. Bone stock (with runflats) there are guys on the Vette forum that have done the quarter in mid/low 12s. If you replace the runflats with stickier tires you can get even lower in the 12s. R&T lists the 1/4 as 12.8 @ 110+mph. It's pretty fast

How dependable is the car? I am in the market for a 2 seater, 12s 1/4 mile minimum car. I am looking at a few but the vette seems to be the best dollar per hp deal. The interior is not nice on those though. It is a Chevy but they still could upgrade it.

Is $30k for an 05' vette with low miles? It would be a weekend car at most.

The car has been extremely dependable, although the 2005s had a few minor issues the 2006s did not. Off the top of my head I’ve had to bring my car in because the rear diff was a little noisy, and the **** at the end of the handbrake had to be replaced because it was loose, but that’s pretty much the only problems in 32000 miles. There isn’t even any scheduled maintenance until 50,000 miles, so the only thing I’ve paid for is oil changes. The car's been really solid and I drive my car every day through all conditions (rain, snow, etc.) on beaten up Boston roads.

Is the car you’re looking at still under warranty? It would definitely be preferable to get a car under warranty. You can opt for an extended warranty as long as the original warranty hasn’t run out.

I don’t really mind the interior. I actually like it as much or more than the interior in my GS400, although I generally don’t really care about interiors. The 2005s did have a funky steering wheel that was ‘upgraded’ in 06. I say ‘upgraded’ because it’s the same steering wheel that’s found in the Cobalt!

$30k sounds about right, you might be able to talk that number down a bit but it’s not out of line with the car’s value. This car is a beast, and pretty much the only other car you can find for that price that can really compare would be a used Boxster S which is a lot more nimble but a lot slower as well. The old M3 is cool too but it’s pretty dated at this point. The Boxster S and Vette were the only cars in this price range that I felt were worthy of consideration. Although if you're looking for something to use strictly on weekends, I think the prices of used Vipers are surprisingly low

GM finally did something right, they produced the LS based engine.

You cant go wrong with a LS1,LS6,LS2,LS3,LS7 engine, just as reliable as a Lexus engine. Maybe even more since most of the vettes are driven hard and owner are getting 100K+ out of them with zero issues.
