Leasing a used car: Please advise, link provided
Hey guys,
In the market for a caymanS/boxster S (07 with the cayman engine) and found the following online: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-...em260204752073
Its a used Boxster S and the dealer is looking at leasing it...What things should I look out for and what should I be cautious about?
Looks like a fantastic deal especially with the limited amount of 07 Boxser S on the Market.

I'm gonna quote Jeremy Clarkson on this one:
"And nor should you go for the entry-level V8, because nothing says a man has failed in life quite so well as a 500 badge on the back of his Mercedes. Apart, perhaps, from a Porsche Boxster."

Well, from the pictures and background info, there's no question it's a nice-looking car, at least on the surface. But try and find out why the first owner dumped it after only 5000 miles....or if he just bit off more than he could chew on the payments and it was repo'ed. That could give a clue as to whether it's a safe buy or not. If it was not damaged or driven hard by the first owner, it could be a Certified Used Car with a full warranty.
And look the body and exterior over CAREFULLY for any signs of accident damage or repair......slightly mismatched wheels/tires that do not have uniform wear, slight differences in paint color and texture from one body panel to the next, ripples in the bodywork, etc..... From the pictures, it looks like a real cream puff, but you can't always tell some things from pictures...you have to see and examine the car close-up in person.

Another thing to be careful of... sometimes accident reports don't make it to carfax for a while. My friend bought what seemed like a mint condition 06 BMW 330i, for a great price, and it had a clean carfax, etc.
Now, BMW has rejected some warranty claims due to a severe frontal collision. Low and behold, rechecked a carfax on it, and an accident is now listed. The title is still clear, but it was in a frontal collision that wasn't on the report at the time....
