I've heard about it (rather read about it in a magazine.. must've been Robb Report or Forbes' or something).

It's a pretty good deal I think to drive the exotics you've always dreamed of.

I did the WC driving event last year.

I got to drive:

McLaren SLR
Gallardo Spyder
F430
GT3
Aston Vantage

5 cars. But like you said it was $1200 (or something like that)

Also the guests do NOT get to drive the cars. At least that is the way it was last year. The guests get to ride along. If the guests got to drive the cars that would be the same as them going on the event which is $1295 (you said).

So what did I get for that money? I did get to drive my dream machines no doubt. But the Ford GT was not there even tho it was supposed to be so they substituted the Vantage for it. The Vantage is a great car but it's no Ford GT.

So I got to drive about 15 or 20 minutes in each car. But this was in a convoy so you have to follow the cars in front. So consequently we were driving B-roads (some HW) and we were limited to speeds of maybe Speed limit +20 MPH (maybe a tinY bit more on a section, but the normal driving was just like you would drive on a B-road or in traffic if there is any).

And this is public roads so they have to wait at times if they get separated like at a red light they have to pull over for the end to catch up and if somebody gets lost they have everyone pull over and wait. This cuts down on the real driving time. When I was in the Vantage for 20 minutes 15 minutes was in stop and go neighborhood traffic and on the HW in normal speed traffic. Maybe 2 minutes on B-roads.

If you figure 15 to 20 minutes in 5 cars comes out to 88 minutes of driving. But it takes a few hours since you have to ride shotgun when another guy is driving and you have to wait up and change cars every 20 minutes.

So that's it call it $1200 for 90 minuts of seat time. That's $13 a minute. Sounds like a lapdance I got in Vegas LOL.

If you go, my best advice is to go in the early morning. I lived 2 hrs from where they were they did it so I didn't want to get up at 5AM to make it to the 8AM start. So I got in the 11AM start and as such there was a lot more Saturday traffic at that time.

ALso the early morning group was just 5 drivers so you could drive 5 cars in a row and get done in 2 hrs. But the afternoon group was 10 drivers (for 5 cars) so I had to ride shotgun or ride in the 300C chase cars 5 times so it takes twice as long. So it's closer to 3 hrs.

Believe me it's not a heck of a lot of fun riding shotgun with a stranger, and you don't know if you should be scared if he pulls somsthing crazy and if you are driving and you have somebody riding shotgun that you don't know you won't be as comfortable in an already unconfortable situation.

So if you can get in a smaller group early in the day before traffic it should be a lot better.

It's a great program, but I think it's very costly and the roads had better be clear or mostly you will be driving the speed that other motorests are driving. I mean if you get behind Ma and Pa Clampet you are not driving a F430 the way it should be driven. And they don't let you pass other cars except when it's marked (obviously) but it's more often you are just speed limit +10 or +20 mph.

They do a good job with pics and give you lunch etc.. but $260 per car with at most 20 min in each is a bit much to pay.

here is me about to drive the Gallardo-my

everyone said the F430 was the best/most fun to drive but they payed $250K for it and the GT3 costs $125K (something like that) so the GT3 costs half as much but is 80% as nice.

I liked the Vantage also but IMO it didn't seem as nice as the GT3 while they cost about the same.

The Ferrari and Lambo both have SMG-type tranny I have never driven before but they were super easy to learn. I was worried if you stop in gear it would stall but it goes to neutral so you take off in 1st gear after you stop. Very cool.
