Added a New Car to the Stable....
and picked up my '08 E63 this morning!!!
The GS430 is now my wife's daily driver.
I had been pondering on what car to replace my GS430 with, and had originally been debating between the LS460, BMW 550, GS 450H, MB E550 and the Audi S5. But I'll have to thank CL member lexuslover, since it was her thread that got me interested in the E63.
Lexuslover also provided me with some great leads at several dealerships. So after a few days of making calls, I decided to pull the trigger last night and ended up trading in my wife's E350 as part of the deal.
I haven't driven the car too much yet and will give my impressions after I can spend some quality time driving this weekend. I will say though that the Command module is light years behind what is found in my GS430. It's going to take some time getting use to a non-touch nav display. But listening to the engine growl and start-up is enough to make me smile
Here are some quick and dirty pics of the new ride.

Nice job. Great color.
That's funny mmarshall, there's a huge sticker that comes on the front windshield reminding the driver about the break-in period. Keep below 75mph or RPMs below 4500. Of course I removed the sticker immediately
Ha Henry, I knew I'd get some grief from you
I was leaning towards the LS460, especially after seeing pics of your LS. But you're right, MB is running some attractive programs this month, and the dealer made an offer I just couldn't say no to. Figured I could always go for the LS after the E63.
Shoot me a PM, I want to meet up so I can get a close-up look at your LS.
Yes, the power is quite amazing. I always thought my GS430 was plenty fast, but when I test drove the E63 last week, I was floored.
I'll have to pay extra attention to my V1 now.
I've driven a GS for almost 9 years now...a 2nd gen GS300 and the 3rd gen GS430. To be honest, I was ready for a change of pace and have always wanted to drive an AMG or M model. No time like the present I guess!
I'm definitely not ready to leave Lexus and will likely replace the GS430 with a Lexus SUV.
I'll take some pics when I have some time this weekend. The black leather and black birdseye maple is a killer combo.

There are a lot of AMG's in this big-money Washington, DC area, too, just like in SoCal. Leasing, both here and there, is basically what keeps many luxury-car dealers in buisness, as many people who lease could otherwise not afford the monthly payments on a purchase....or they can legally use the car for buisness and deduct the payments.

funny i am one of the few who knows (and try to educate people here) that lease deals on the mb are very good compared to lexus (and you have to see how some people don't buy into that)
trust me marshall, i know what it's like on mb and bmw in terms of leases. when i got my ls460l, i shopped on the s class as well and saw their deals, it was very good. that's why i wonder how good it is now

Leasing has become indispendable to the luxury-car market in general. Many upscale dealerships in this area problably wouldn't make it without leasing.......I suspect the same in SoCal.
Of course you know your stuff......I wasn't saying otherwise. Some lease deals ARE quite good. Two of the main factors in a lease deal are market demand and projected vehicle depreciation.
