Both good cars, but the 335 for me hands down. Why?
1. Just as fast from 0-60 and 0-100.
2. Real people can fit in the back seat
3. Factory MP3 and satellite radio.
4. Bluetooth
5. Feels more connected to the road.
6. Free scheduled maintenance
7. More car for the money
8. Greater peace of mind safety-wise.
9. Trunk vs. hatchback.
10. BMW reputation of performance & handeling. Heck, it’s a BMW
11. Ability to control a lot of the car’s features from the steering wheel (radio, phone, etc.) unlike the Supra
12. Better weight distribution 50/50 vs. 53/47. more balanced machine.
13 Chassis that was designed & engineered from the ground up. (Supra rides on a shortened Lexus SC chassis)
14 Better workmanship & quality of materials.
15. Transmission less thrashy.
16. New car
1. Just as fast from 0-60 and 0-100.

Pole Position
For a 15 year old car, the Supra TT still is both a looker and a performer hehe. But there is a big difference between the 335i and the Supra TT: one is unequivocally a rare classic sports car, while the other is a sporty car often leased thus lacking exclusivity. Bring both to a track and one will feel at home, while the other will beg for urban driving (preferably to the country clubs ).

1) Its NOT just as fast. Supra runs high 100s in the traps, the 335 can barely get mid 100s.
5) Have you driven a Supra? It feels just as connected as a 3-series (though pretty short of a FD or something like that)
6) There better be, because its expensive. Oil dipstick?
7) Depends on what you call more. The 335 is a NICE car, but it doesnt handle as well as the Supra did, nor is it as fast, nor does it have the aftermarket potential and looks themselves are subjective.
8) Can't argue that; new cars are way safer.
9) Again thats subjective, much like wanting 2 or 4 doors. Though this has been stated to be YOUR reasons So I lay off there
10) The Toyota outhandles it regardless of "reputation".
12) Better weight distribution doesnt mean better handling
13) The SC chassis wasnt designed to be a GT car from the ground up? Have you seen the Soarer 2.5T?
14) Definitely wrong here. Supra is more reliable and materials last longer than the typical BMW parts; especially the electronics. The 335 interior LOOKS nicer and well laid out like modern luxury cars should be. (I wouldnt expect any less with a 14 year time difference)
15) Do you have bad experience with a V160? The tuner community would disagree and say its the best 6-speed manual tranny ever made. Though the NSX did have a much smoother shifting action.
16) Yeah. Thats something hard to argue with
I like the 335 myself, but I dont like all the issues BMWs are prone too.

I feel that the mechanics of automobiles have not changed or evolved much in the recent two decades. Mainly there are more and more electronics and computer controlled systems in a vehicle, but the engine, steering mechanisms and suspension are still pretty much the same as the cars made 15 years ago. But the styling has changed a lot and definitely looking more and more modern.
Go back to the topic, I would still take the BMW 335i coupe because I have never liked Supra's headlights styling. But if I have a choice, I would go for some other sports cars other than these two, such as RX-7 or GT-R.

I could go on and on and on with a list of things the Japanese copied from the Germans.

Let me see that list. The reason I chose the Supra over the 335i. was because it is rare and a pure sports car. The best car I ever owned at the time was a 2000 BMW 328Ci.

Well if you really want the thread to get off topic here ya go:
1. Diesel engine
2. Automobile
3. Internal Combustion Engine
4. Wankel engine
Here's a few links:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=keTW7...eature=related
With that said, I think we can agree that most of the world has copied German innovations and inventions and without them our world would be a whole lot different.
