Just want to share some pics.

I recently powdercoated my wheels (to match my dry clutch) and added an axle cover. Now, my cousin wants to do the same to his 1098.

Oddly enough, the craziest drivers that have recently tried to race my Multistrada have been in:

--a Porsche Carrera GT
--a Ford Explorer
--a 50cc Vespa
--another Multistrada
--my cousin in his 1098
--an 8 year old kid on a bicycle
--and once, a cop who caught up with me to give me a lecture about lane-splitting. (see thread)

Phil, mods really look nice but the 1098 is on a whole different level.

Nice Duc! Do you tour with it? I ask only because I see the luggage rack for a top box and the hand guards.

I've done some minor mods to my '99 Bandit 1200 such as polishing the wheel lips, adding a Stage II jet kit with open pod filters, and trimming (not totally chopping) the rear fender. Doing things like this was great when I did it, but I sometimes regret it when on trips. The air filters take in water when I'm caught in the rain and trimming back the fender sure makes a mess of things. And of course the polished lips are a pain to keep clean.

From L.A, I have travelled to San Diego, Las Vegas, and San Francisco with my bike.

In fact, for July 20th, 2008, I will be going to Laguna Seca to watch MotoGP!!!

I should organize a 350-mile bike convoy from L.A. to Monterey...

I wish I could join ya... but it's like 10 degrees here in Chicagoland. Mid 40s is about my limit since I don't have heated gear. Needless to say it'll be at least 2-3 months before I ride.

Glad to hear the bike just isn't to show off on the weekends - too many of those posers around. I've made it out to Seattle before on the bike, but not to southern Cali. Maybe someday that will happen - a Rte 66 trip would be sweet.
