thats why the LM002 should be resurrected. Not like a Cayenne/Toureg/Q7, but a full out Defender/Gelandewagen type with a Murcielago V12!

I don't like the back, like the front. Interior is classic BMW, basically the same as the X5. No surprise there.

Maybe this thing will grow on me over time, but it'll take a while.

It seems like most of the new car are getting more and more disgusting, and this thing managed to outdo the Aztek. I think Audi is the only maker that manages to still make attractive cars in this segment.

IMO way too much power. You don't need 400hp in this vehicle. Base hp of 250 would be more than sufficient. Such superfluos power is gonna leave people dead.

That's exactly what I thought, but in opposite order (i.e., man that 4.4L turbo is so sweet.... but what an ugly car they put it in!)

How is this monstrosity "functional"? Do you really need to climb up a rocky ridge that fast? Does it have the interior capacity to make it a space-efficient city-hauler?

I know people ask for the best of both worlds (off roader SUV and fast sporty vehicle), but I question if this can satisfy both wants...
No. The X5 doesn't even do well as an off roader. The X6 is basically the answer to the CLS but in SUV form. A cramped version of the X5. The people who will buy it are people who don't give a crap about functionality. It's just a fast sedan on a SUV body.

It doesn't. It's a 4 seater, if it had 5 seats maybe I could see people wanting to buy this. But as a 4 seater it's the stupidest idea I've ever heard of.
And it's ugly as sin to boot.

This thing is going to weigh as much as the X5 and that's what's limiting its performance. Alas, a nicely loaded X5 4.8 goes for $70K+ - so I see this at $75-80K and while I'm intrigued by it, I just don't see it doing so well at that price point.

I love comments like "answer to the question nobody asked" - funny how Toyota is introducing the same type of car shortly....

This has 4 seats. I'm thinking the Venza will actually have more utility than this. It's just a more stylized crossover. This is a weird mix between different genres that clash.
SUV. Sport Utility Vehicle. Supposed to be able to haul/offroad (to an extent)/tow.
Coupe. Two door slung styling, sporty image, and some sport (sometimes).
This X6 might excel at speed because of the engine but with it's weight I doubt it'll be nimble. It has 4 seats so it can't seat much, the rear gate is slung low so there's less room for cargo. And I don't know much about the X5 but I doubt it's much of an offroad or towing vehicle.

Someone will buy it but I have no idea why.

Well, the big news here is the TT 4.4L V8. I'm sure it'll make its way into the next 550i and 750i. 400 hp and 450 lb/ft torque. Man, the 550i will be a rocket ship.
