I'm back. Check out my new ride
Congrats on the new car. You're right, the CL board is a pretty damn good board. My Lexus has been gone for over 6 months, but I still come around because everyone here is a lot more mature.
i am sure lots more coming to your car!
Nice car.........Congragulations.
But why black? Probably, along with white, one of the two hardest colors to take care of, although I see you have a garage which helps.
Using liquid SCRATCH-OUT will help a lot in keeping the paint nice....especially on black, which shows every little hairline scratch.
Do you know the standard break-in rules for a new car? If not, PM me and I'll give them to you.
You mentioned the insurance rate on it. In most states, and with most insurance companies, you're automatically covered for 30 days on a new car anyway with the same limits as your old policy even if you don't get around to formally adding it on your new policy. But insurance rates aren't necessarily determined by engine power alone. Many factors are taken into account......whether you are married or single, your age, your personal driving record, primary drivers of the car and their driving records,, how many miles it is driven, whether or not you commute, the state you live in, the age of the car, the local crime rate in your specific area, how likely the car is to be stolen, damaged by storms or vandals, cost of accident or vandalism repairs, etc..... Many factors are involved.....you would be surprised how complex it is.
Make sure, with insurance, that you are getting every discount you are entitled to. GEICO, for example, my company, gives extra discounts for 5-year good driving records, being a high-level Federal employee, air bags, regular seat-belt use (you sign a statement for that), ABS, and factory anti-theft systems.
