While the KA24DE engine used was anemic in stock form, sourced from the Nissan trucks and used also in the Altima sedan, they were able to be modified to ridiculous amounts still (Top End Performance Turbo kits produced around 300whp).

If rumors of the new AE87 from Toyco manifests, Nissan could definitely answer it with a QR25 derived RWD setup and label it as the next 250sx.

While I do not refute your comment about the high HP gains by adding a turbo, it's an aftermarket turbo and not OEM. I was only commenting on the OEM engines that made it to the state bound 240SXs

I'd be very happy if the SR20DET made it over, but I remember how engine swaps back then were rare.
