Why do you care what we think? Get what you want? It's your money. Personally I would not pay 10k for one, for that amount of money I would take a Vette any day as it is not that much more. But...if all you care about it going straight fast then there are mods for that car to boost is waaay up there. A friend of mine as the Cobra -previous version. He has pulleys, exhaust, etc ...it's fast...I think... never see him drive it, not sure why, his car really never comes up in conversation much. Have to hit him up on what happened next time we chat. I think he said he was putting out 450 to the wheels.

Not sure why everyone compares it to the Vette? Growing up around Detroit, the Stang was always compared to the Camaro, Z28, Iroc, Trans Am etc etc…..

It's because those cars don't exist anymore... yet. I really hope they revive the Trans Am/Firebird name because the styling always excited me more than the Camaro versions.

i remember seeing a C6 vette vs shelby cobra GT500 comparo, vette completely smashed it, 600 lbs lighter, same power, far superior chassis, better 0-60. IMO Shelby is just bragging rights especially when the price of GT500 starts walking close to the C6 vette and the vette being significantly better

This I know, I am talking about the class of car. I don’t see a need to compare it to the vette all the time regardless of what “version” the stang is.

It is really two different things to me.

Well some people will cross-shop them because of pricing. But I agree the Corvette and Mustang aren't really rivals because they aren't really in the same class. I wouldn't really cross-shop them myself. Because it's unavoidable that the Mustang is still a Mustang, it wasn't built with handling in mind. The Corvette was blueprinted with handling and light weight sports car in mind.

I can only assume the Shelby GT is around $40,000 + because of new motor and supercharger added to it. Plus, it's a limited release.

It's proably the nicest looking, compact sports car the americans can put together. 500HP of raw power, supercharged might I add!!!!! Who doesn't want it? It's a gas guzzler, which is why it has to be my weekend or cruising car. I'll still keep the car I have now for daily commute. What do you guys think of this? Pretty fast huh? The IS-F probably can't keep up with this american bad boy.

Ok and? What do you drive now? I like the Mustang but I would take a C6 over it anyday.

It's not cheaper at all. You can get a base C6 for the same price as a GT500 and that's before you take into account the fact that dealers are marking up the price of the Stang
