Default Tuner Special: Project Kahn SLR McLaren

This tuner SLR McLaren comes from A. Kahn of Bradford, England.

Is "tuner SLR McLaren" redundant? A. Kahn boosts the already prodigiously powered supercar to 677 hp.

Project Kahn SLR McLaren gets a lowered sport suspension and a performance exhaust system as well.

A. Kahn says it's "committed to making use of the natural beauty of design and materials," as this Project Kahn SLR McLaren shows.

A. Kahn touches all the major bases in supercar tuning, encompassing British icons such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Land Rover and Rolls-Royce, as well as BMW and Ferrari, among others.

BRADFORD, England — The designers at A. Kahn, one of Britain's premier tuning houses, believe the lily really can be gilded. The evidence can be seen in Project Kahn's rendition of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, a flower of high profile and high performance if ever there was one.

A soon-to-be-released body styling kit is accompanied by Kahn RS-X alloy wheels shod with 20-inch performance tires in front and 21s in the rear, replacing the original 18-inch combination.

Kahn boosts output of the supercharged 5.4-liter V8 by 60 horsepower, from 617 to 677 hp.

In addition, Kahn fits a lowered sport suspension and a performance exhaust system.

Customers can also order unique leather upholstery and trim, as well as custom exterior paint schemes.

What this means to you: The SLR, unlike many supercars, doesn't need much additional frippery to seal its appeal.
