Nobody is doubting the performance of the Z06. Did someone post that here? it is not about just the performance so there is no need to keep running to the same old tired argument when there is none.
Facts are if someone can swing a Lambo or Ferrari do you think they would take a look at a Chevy? Possible ,yes, but for me if I could go out and comfortably purchase a Lambo do you really think I CARE one bit about the maintenance? That would not enter the picture-for me at least

OK so the Lambo is the better car for people with money to burn and the Z06 is the better car for the other 99.99% of us.

The Maybach 62 is a "superior" car to the LS600h by leaps and bounds in a cost is no object sense. Guess which one I'm 100 times more impressed by? The one that I could actually reasonably afford.

The Z06 is a FAR more impressive car to me because it out performs the Lambo at a far lower cost of ownership including far better mileage, far easier repairs, and far better reliability. Those things matter a lot to me and the other 99.99% of the people on the planet.

So while the lambo is a fun car to dream about and talk about - in no way do I consider it as impressive as the Corvette Z06 from an overall real world perspective of at least somewhat limited budget constraints.

It's as simple as this:

Anyone who's interested in a beast-like performance supercar with a great value, will easily choose the C6 Z06. It still has that legendary Z06 badge on it, but ofcourse its still no exotic.

And anyone else who has the money to spend big bucks on a a supercar with an exotic name to it without having performance/track as a main priority will go otherwise with an expensive exotic.

If someone laid a C6 Z06 and a Ferrari F430 on my garage, and told me I can have one for free. Well, obviously I'd take the Ferrari. But that's not being realistic; even if I had an 175k budget, seeing how I have performance as a huge factor in any supercar, it would be really hard for me to pass on a C6 Z06. (The Ferrari F430 performs almost as great as the C6 Z06, but it comes with a hefty price tag due to its exotic name/looks).

The C6 Z06 is a great value and performance-freak supercar.

Jay Leno owns about every car imaginable and is a huge advocate of the Z06. I think the only car he likes as much or better is the CGT. So to answer your question, it is entirely possible that one would choose a Z06 even if they can afford an italian exotic.
