Default Mercedes-Benz BLK-Class preview

Expect the ALK-Class to soon follow to woo enough potential Yaris buyers and to finally beat Lexus in sales volume!

http://4wheelsblog.com/previews/mercedes-benz-blk

The German publication Autobild is reporting that Mercedes is considering the development of a hatchback and a roadster version of a new class of automobiles: BLK. Mercedes BLK will be based off of the B-Class platform. This new model is supposed to compete directly with Bmw’s 1-Series.

Mercedes could base these small cars on the larger rear-wheel drive C-Class platform, which would allow larger engines especially for the American auto market.

OK, now it's starting to sound like sandwiches

Whatever happened to the "prestige" that everyone is praising about?

if they're making smaller Mercedes, bring back the W201 but on more modern terms.

This is what Mercedes Benz should actually sell:

B-Class
CLS
S-Class
SLK-Class
SL-Class
CL-Class
G-Class
GL-Class
R-Class

That's still a lot of models but it's farless than what they are selling

I don't understand why MB needs two midsize cars. One should be enough E or CLS.

Reason I said CLS I am seeing more of those now.

Because most people want reasonable rear headroom & ease of entry/exit for a midsize car which the CLS does not provide, plus the ability to seat 5 (it's 4 for the CLS).
Actual sales of the CLS is just a small fraction of the E-class.

And why exactly did they sell Chrysler?
Throw prestige right out the window with all these cute cars...

Honestly, Mercedes should do what Toyota did start up different companies.

Have something similar to Scion or wtv sell the A-Class, B-Class, R-Class and other models, actually it should be sold under Smart (even though that wouldnt be a good idea). Have Mercedes still sell certain models. Plus they have the Maybach division for one 2 ultra-high end models.

Soon were going too see a $10K Mercedes, which is going to cost $30k with options lol
