The exterior of the Audi S5 reminds me of the Volvo C70 for some reason. The 6 series looks like no other car on the road and stands out above the rest, right Och I say get behind the wheel of both vehicles with your buddy, and see which car makes him grin from ear to ear. I have a feeling "the ulmitate driving machine" will be the choice.

You'd have to drive both to make your decision, and I know you haven't done that since the Audi 5 series isn't out yet.

I will say that in looks, both inside and out, the S5 >>>> 6-series.

However in terms of driving dynamics and such, the Audi will have its work cut out for it.

Granted this is Audi's first use of their new chassis that will eventually be used on the 2009 A4 and 2010 A6... so driving dynamics could be better than we've ever seen from Audi before...

From looks, I like the Audi S5. I'd have to drive it before making a determination but my bets are on the Audi. Better value, looks great, and most likely will be fun to drive. I WILL test drive one when it comes out.

Anyone know the ballpark price of the S5? So far for me, A/S5 for look and interior, but for performance and value I think we need more info.

The S5 is roughly in the $50k range for a base model. Realistically, with options a S5 will cost $55,000 - $65,000.

$62-$65 for loaded S5 (sticker) these numbers should be very close..according to fourtitude.com speculation

and my cousin is getting loaded 650 for about $71-$72K with 82K sticker.

so about a 8-10K dollar differnece in what he will expect to pay more for the 650, but i think the S5 will win overall in value.

superlative performance, handling, agility, with stunning good looks in and out and impeccable build quality...

S5 wins (for me)

If these prices are correct or even close, that is a great deal for the S5.

These are factual pricing for:

56K loaded S4

71K loaded RS4

80K loaded S6

Perhaps 62K for a loaded S5 may be a little optimistic. I think 65K loaded is a very good estimate. For sure, theres no way it will be over 70k by all means.

Again, i think this will be a better buy than a 650 hands down.

The S5 should really be compared to the M3 or even 335i.
