Ford needs to do something and fast!! They have plenty of good looking cars in Europe like the Mondeo and Focus, that they don't offer here. I mean what's the purpose of selling an dated looking Focus, when they have a newer, more modern looking one in Europe?? And they wonder why their sales aren't doing so well.

I'm with Pearlpower. I don't think Ford sedans are boring at all. I generally prefer edges and squared-off looks to the almost ubiquitous sweep-back headlights, humpback-whale roofs, sweep-forward taillights, and French-curve dashes so prevalent today. In fact, that is one of the reasons why I LIKE Ford......they make sedans that look like SEDANS, not dolphins. Don't forget, Ford TRIED that kind of stuff with the 1995-1999 Taurus, and sales suffered badly as a result....the Taurus lost its first-place status to the Camry, never to regain it.

If you guys want to see ugly, just wait till ford releases this nasty 8 passenger Box they are going to call a car. Ford always whines and complains too. Try to throw mud in the face of other car companies that are doing good. They need to suck it up dig down deep and start taking care of business. Out here in Detroit I see sooo many bumper stickers about how you should only buy american yet the american three are closing factories down and building them up in Mexico. Idiots... I hear **** all the time from people about how I shouldn't turn my back on america and buy foriegn cars. Because I have a Tundra and a Lexus. The funniest thing is when they try to tell me how I could get the same quality and better car from american for half of what I paid for my Lexus.

Quote: Don't you like the new Navigators gauges?

Ford had to pay at least $5 each.

Holy cow! That's an 07??? I've never paid attention to the cluster-so that proves my point.

However, the center console radio area is much better though.

The usual rants...

But hey, I think the '08 Taurus interior is world's better than the UBER cheap Camry!

The 08 Taurus doesn't look bad. I would probably pass on the fake wood though.

Not bad, but still a Taurus. Appears they dumped some of the awkward controls that plagued my Fusion which incidentally is at Ford again for the 10th time. Trans again and window door motor out. Soon to be replaced with a 2000 Acura TL with twice the miles and a lot more reliable.

Gotta agree, bit. Except for the Corolla LX, I haven't been very impressed with recent Toyota interiors. But Toyotas stilll, in most cases (not all), outdo Ford in the reliability department....the Fusion/Milan/Zephyr/MKS is a notable exception, with much-better-than-average reliability in their FIRST year.

And what is REALLY nice about that Taurus interior you posted is that you can get it in an AWD, wagon-version (Freestyle) that, though somewhat larger, compares favorably with the Subaru Outback I like so much, but of course it doesn't have the Outback's sales numbers or reputation.

Quote: I don't know why you guys are hating, I love those "reto" gauges. Brings back memories....
im still young and I find these gauges hard to read, imagine anolder person trying to drive this thing

If someone wants to see ugly just look at the front of the new navigator, I've aready seen several driving around. How can anyone willingly buy something with one of the most hideous fronts I've ever seen. And this style is pretty much on all the new lincolns

Lincoln has always been 'boxy'. Think of it as Ford's "Scion" for old people, lol.

Toyota just scored best interiors for sub-luxury, Lexus was tops for luxury. I do think Ford has the best interiors of the American brands and almost on par with the Japanese in some cases, clearly better than Nissan.

Vanilla sells, just sell good vanilla. Not everybody wants a got damn 911!

Yep, and its that perception of quality that's really making people turn their heads the other way. Some of their models need complete replacements but others are slowly turning their track record around.

If Ford is admitting that boring design hurts sales, why is Toyota doing so well then? I really don't think people walk into Toyota dealerships raving over the looks of their Corolla, Prius, Camry or Highlander.
To this point, the Asian imports seem to be moving in another direction... I thought aluminum-colored plastics and yellow wood were already exhausted trends?
