Disintegrated Lotus Elise
Yes, the Elise is great fun to drive if you like Go-Kart handling, but the penalties of that lightweight, tin-can construction are obvious...especially in a high-speed crash like this. I've mentioned this in other posts, numerous times. Of course, 115 MPH is a very severe impact for ANY car, much less a tinny one like this. That speedometer lying in the road tells it all.
In fact, I'm surprised that the 1.8L Toyota engine/transaxle assembly back behind the seats (the only real source of weight on the car) didn't tear loose and shoot forward, taking the seats with them....the rear end looks comparatively OK.
