In general, both. Younger people, on the average, are more tolerant of what they go through at dealerships than older people. But, conversely, they are also, in general, much harder on their cars than older people are, drive more aggressively, abuse the engine, transmission, tires, and brakes more, and as a result, are more likely to NEED major vehicle repairs.

I don't know, im a pretty big fan of Lexus because i like their cars, and that's probably the only reason that i would go back to them to purchase another car. But their customer service sucks, i find. One dealership tried ripping me off with repairs... and just the attitude i recieved was unbelievable!

Another dealership expected me to call them to check when i part i ordered came in, when they told me that they would call me as soon as it would arrive. After 2 1/2 weeks i finally called saying "where's my part? it was supposed to arrive after 1 week, and you guys haven't even called me." they told me that it wasnt their responsibility to "chase" me (when i never recieved a SINGLE call) and that it was my fault becuase i should have called them to check in on it. THEN WHY THE **** DID THEY TAKE MY PHONE NUMBER FOR! ...I really lost a lot of respect for that particular dealership that day...to tell a customer that its THEIR fault?...that's not right!

lol...anyways those are my experiances with Lexus and i'm not too happy with them.

We see the same thing happening here in San Diego with Lexus, Acura, BMW,etc. The manufacturers have allowed companies like United Auto and Auto Nation to buy out car dealers. In one area of SD, the BMW, Lexus, MB, and Acura dealer are the same company (sales and service wise).

To the large chains/distributors, cars are just a product in which to make money. They would sell vacuum cleaners if it made them more money.

Since the large retail chains are public companies, the profits and service revenue all must go up. This type of business is incompatible with Lexus or what Lexus used to be.

Your best bet is to go to a Lexus dealer that is still independent although this is no gurarantee of good service either.

I think that list is truly pointless, comparing completely different businesses.

Not in Vancouver, there's a lot of money floating around, but a large portion of the 'established' money is now at the age where they no longer want to dress up, so they wear jeans and sweatshirt w. runners . Also, many of the 'rich kids' just go shopping when ever. SO, if your a non-moron lux car sales man, -and this doesn't apply just in Vancouver- you talk to everyone (provided they have teeth ).

As a mini side story, a friend of mine is looking into buying a (~5yr old) boxter-s ... so we went to Porsche ... and the guy that helped us, after we waited like 15min while he straightened his desk, clearly didn't believe we wanted one; the guy told my friend he could 'test drive the car after he ordered one, because nothing is better than porche'. So we went down the street to a different dealer (which sells many varieties of high end cars) and has a test drive, of a boxter-s, scheduled for next saturday.

So on that note: I guess Porsche Vancouver fails on customer service. ... ... hmm, that didn't prove my point did it ... ah well w.e
