TechArt mods the 997TT to 630hp for Geneva debut (updated)
Geneva's motor show has a reputation for green machines and styling, but it might best be known as the tuner's home. Year after year, microbrands like Rinspeed and TechArt show up in Geneva with their spins on existing production cars, with reskinned bodies, redone engines, or both.
That's the case for 2007 as well, as TechArt says it's bringing this GTstreet to Geneva. Based on the latest Porsche 911 Turbo, the GTstreet's major attention-getter is the modified turbo engine. In TechArt's hands, the stock Porsche 3.6-liter flat six makes 630 horsepower, from the stock engine's 480 hp.
TechArt says its spin on the 911 Turbo will shoot to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, and will hit a top speed of 214 mph. With those performance specs, TechArt created a body kit that helps manage the GTstreet's airflow and generate more downforce.

TechArt GTstreet 911 Turbo
TechArt GTstreet - Auto Shows
Faster. Meaner. Oranger.
BY STEVE SILER, February 2007
When too fast still isn’t fast enough, who you gonna call? We suggest the torrid tuners at Germany’s TechArt, whose stand at the 2007 Geneva motor show includes its brand-new TechArt GTstreet. Based on the already screaming-fast 997-series 911 Turbo, this sequel to the 2001 TechArt GTstreet (which was based on the similarly screaming-fast 996 911 Turbo) offers similar modifications to amp up the scream factor even higher than can be mustered by the base Turbo’s meager 480-hp flat-six. Specifically, the twin-turbo 3.6-liter engine has been injected with an additional 150 horsepower (!) for a total of 630 at 6800 rpm, and torque rises in similar measure to 605 pound-feet at 4500 rpm, from the standard Turbo’s 505 (with overboost).
As such, TechArt claims the GTstreet should hit 62 mph in a scant 3.2 seconds (a modest claim, considering we’ve done 60 mph in 3.4 seconds in a standard 911 Turbo) and 124 mph in just 10.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 214 mph. And it sure looks fast, too, with sexy black wheels, a lowered suspension, and a more aggressive body with contours honed in a wind tunnel, offering what TechArt calls “an optimal symbiosis of aerodynamic downforce, minimized drag, and striking design.” And lots of orange paint.

As Porsche's type-997 911 range matures, the tuners who extend the cars' already formidable capabilities are staying one step ahead of the game. TechArt, known for its comprehensive revamps, is no exception. As we recently showed you, it's been hard at work on a follow-up to the rather awesome 996-based 2001 TechArt GTstreet.
Enter the 997-based GTstreet, one of TechArt's two Geneva debuts (more on the second one later). With a Carrera GT-topping 630 horses and an equally-amazing 600+ lb-ft of torque, the 0-60 claim of 3.2 seconds sounds quite reasonable, if not conservative. Like Porsche's factory supercar, its top end is well over 200 mph. In fact, TechArt claims the car's top speed is 214 mph with its power upgrades and new aero body kit. Official photographs have been posted to go along with the previous sketch we showed you, and we hope to have some live shots posted in a few hours as well.

I wonder why none of these after market tuners have redone the tail lights to be LED tails.......
Those stock tails look so yesterday. Everything else though is just plain awesome!
