Auction Set To Sell Off Chrysler Unit Mon Feb 19, 6:04 PM ET
A London newspaper reported on Monday that an auction will take place to sell off the Chrysler unit of DaimlerChrysler.
JP Morgan Investment Bank officials said they will send the necessary information to likely suitors, in hopes of selling the unit, according to The Times.
The starting asking price for Chrysler is $14 billion. John McElroy, automotive analyst, told WWJ that it would be best if Chrysler was sold as one chunk rather than pieces, because that could be devastating for the Michigan area.
