GM redesigns interiors: a look at the 2008 Cadillac STS interior
Posted on: February 15th, 2007

GM today released some images to show the new direction the company will be taking with designing their interiors. While many agree that American cars have some of the worst designed interiors in the market, GM is now trying keep their number 1 spot by giving consumers an attractive and innovative interiors.

Above are images of the interior on the 2008 Cadillac STS, which was shown at the Detroit Aut Show, and some others that are still in concept phase that we might see in future Buicks and othe GM models.

The STS looks not bad but for the rest of them, I'll believe it when I see it. The second dash looks like an Infiniti M45 complete with Infiniti controller.

STS interior looks better but just in pics, its still missing something to my eyes. GM is dangerous with Caddy they keep improving it.

Much much MUCH better. I was at the autoshow this past week and could not believe how bad the STS dash was - especially for the coin they were looking for.

That first dash looks like they changed the RX350 dash just enough that Lexus wouldn't sue them.

Then again, Click and Clack have said more than once that other car makers should do controls like Honda and Toyota, since they get it right...

The first dash looks more Bimmer like to me.

I like Caddy's V line. An STS with a Supercharger is crazy but.. GREAT at the same time!

I have and will continue to be a fan of the STS. Heck, I think one reason I didn't consider a CTS-V over the IS was because Caddy interiors are so.. well.. Blah.

I was at a Cadillac dealer today. While hanging around outside I noticed a new black CTS-V there and so I wandered over to look at it. The interior is still fugly CTS, but the exterior I thought was great. And Lexus could learn a bunch from the excellent wheel fitment and stance. Also, the car was a 6 speed stick with a 6.0L 400HP V8. Lexus? I know, the IS-F is coming. But so is the next gen CTS this fall. And, getting back to this thread... Autoweek showed pics of its interior/exterior and it looks GREAT.

I guess for me when I think Cadillac, I think of the ones my uncles and parents grew up with in the 50s. I had a family members who kept olds ones going for a long time, and that was actually my earliest impression. Fine American autos. I just wish there were some curves to their designs.
