Black Beauty: Aston Martin Takes Wraps off Vanquish S Ultimate Edition
The Aston Martin Vanquish S Ultimate Edition, priced north of $350,000, is only available in a limited edition of 40.

BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, England — Aston Martin unveiled the Vanquish S Ultimate Edition on Tuesday, saying it will build just 40 units of the car priced at the equivalent of $353,750. The company said, "Initial feedback suggests the whole allocation of this special edition will be sold within weeks of launch."
The Vanquish S Ultimate Edition is primarily an appearance package. Details include a new "ultimate black" exterior paint job, which Aston Martin says will only be available on this model. In the cabin, the Ultimate Edition has semi-aniline leather, a leather headliner and black chrome trim. Each car will get a plaque denoting the limited-edition number. Aston Martin said this model is available only with the two-plus-two seating setup.
The company will also offer a new transmission conversion for the Vanquish that allows existing owners to order a conventional stick shift manual to replace the car's existing auto-shift manual system. The system is available now, starting at $25,750. The Vanquish has been offered with fingertip-controlled Formula 1-style paddles.
The Vanquish is the fastest production Aston Martin, with a top speed of 200 mph. It was the automotive centerpiece of the 2002 James Bond film Die Another Day.

It's only an appearance package, & if you look at the prize they are selling them at, I think they should be charging enough to make a production of only 40 worthwhile . . .
