The LS600hL only competes in hp with the 760Li & A8 W12, those twin turbo V12 's of the S600 & S65 have crazy horsepower . . .

I believe you can get S8 with a Lambo V10, and BMW probably going to stick M5 engine into next upscale 7 series. So LS600h just doesn't cut it.
it also says at least 430... i think you guys aren't reading this right. But you never do, so *shrug*
People that buy sub ultra-luxury cars (under Bentley and Maybach) aren't out there to make retarded horsepower numbers; they want something that DOES have good power. But the quietness, low emissions, hybrid bonus, "look-at-my-new-fangled-car" factor is most likely going to win a lot of people over.... its going to dominate in Hollywood.
I bet a ton of the members of the country club I bartend at will love this car too.

S600 isn't the sport version, the S65 is!

Don't worry guys, rominl and I have talked lengths about the LS600lh not having enough power (or sufficient enough, but complacency sucks).
I know if you own one of these super sedans MPG will not be a problem but what is the MPG for the 600h?

My guess: the same as, if not better than, the 460...Originally Posted by Shawnmack

when i said that i meant to compare with a8 w12 and the 760li. the s600, it's just stupidly crazy on the drivetrain, i admit that

Its fun slapping people with facts. Never gets old. Why don't you look up the V-10 S8/S6 Audi or the 760Li V-12 BMWs power figures or the Audi W-12...Originally Posted by Och

Benz is CLEARLY the HP leader. They have exotic car HP numbers on their V-12 cars.
I won't even post them to make you look siller. Just look them up. (google)
Bishing about a car that has not even been sold yet or tested it. Classic.

Och, honestly, the S600 starts at $139,900 and you want to compare HP with the LS??? Never mind the $189,000 price of the S65. Why does everyone keep comparing unfairly? How about saying the MB's price just doesn't cut it.
This is unbelievable.
This is unbelievable.

Global Warming?

430hps or not, show me the car that has more tech than this LS600hl.
S600, eat your heart out.

How can most of you argue about what Lexus should do and not do with this car when you are not even in the position to purchase one? Lexus is not marketing this car to you! For those that are in the market for a car in this segment, by all means share your opinions.

Let's not forget it will be easier for Lexus to just make another V12 & slab twin turbo's in it like the others. Toyota wants to try something different, & an opportunity to gain experience & further refine a new technology which can be applied to all future automotive fuel sources.

LOL, I would love to drive that "underpowered" piece of junk with ONLY
430+ hp.
Since this is an AWD car I imagine a lot of the power is put to good use as
opposed to a 700hp car that only channels power to the rear 2 wheels.
Just a thought...

IMO I think Lexus is starting to pull away from its competition Lexus have stayed true since its beginning. It might not have the fastest, best handling , best looks or best price. IMHO BMW, Benz, Audi, Infiniti, Lincoln, Cadillac and Acura are trying to dethrone Lexus they think they have something then Lexus takes it to another level and this is coming from a guy who wouldn't look at a Lexus 2 years ago.
