Perhaps with the next gen RX. The current one drives like a hovercraft imo.

The current one drives exactly like a minivan, and looks exactly like a minivan on the inside.

Move it over to the IS/GS platform for the next gen.

RX350/350 awd
RX450h/450h awd
RX460 sport/awd sport

Most folks wont know the difference and the high performance option will be there for those that want it.

I'd really rather they do this than add yet ANOTHER suv to their line-up

All that being said...no RX-F please. The 460 should be as far as it goes.

The RX is a fancy, AWD hatchback (remember hatchbacks? They were really popular before SUVs. I always had one and hauled all kinds of stuff in it).

Hatchbacks were coupes or sedans on a car body, but with the whole back opening up as a liftgate and the ability to lay the rear seats down for a smooth, long cargo area.

The RX is basically the same thing, but with slightly bigger wheels and ground clearance and an awd option. I actually don't think of mine as an SUV, but then I have my GX for that.

I can not wait too see the 3rd gen RX, give or take a year until its on the market.

One thing it be interesting for an RX 600h, instead of an RX460 imo.

+1 I can't believe how long Lexus has been using the same design. The RX came out in 1999. If the new one comes out as an 09, that is 10 years between model changes.

What does that have to do with anything? (see sig)

Agree!

You are so correct. In fact all SUVs interior and exteriors look like minivans.

Or...

You could buy a Cayenne, X5, ML and to a lesser extent a new MDX and have adequate towing capacity when needed and better than average handling on a daily basis.

No brainer...

Well its the best quality in class in best selling. Over 108k sold last year, more than some ENTIRE luxury lineups.

Clearly, its the class leader.

That's ok, the RX is basically the MILF wagon.

You could buy a LX and get 12MPG and feel like you are going to tip over on turns
The LX is a capable off-roader but very long in the tooth.

You could buy a GX and feel the same as the LX but with a stupid assed rear door that opens the wrong way.
Yeah the GX is a solution looking for a problem.

You could buy a Cayenne, X5, ML and to a lesser extent a new MDX and have adequate towing capacity when needed and better than average handling on a daily basis.
New MDX > RX, although RX400h is slick.
New Escalade is a better choice than an LX until the new one

No brainer...
Yes.
