Default Do Lexus loaner cars have GPS tracking systems in them?

My sc400 is in the dealer for service, and I got a RX330 for a loaner.

I need to travel outside the state, but when i called the service department to see if it's okay, they told me i need to stay within the state boundary.

Do they have a GPS tracking system on their loaners to see where their loaners are?

I really don't think so, but I'm not positive. I haven't heard that before.

Lexus has given me an ES 350 for serving my 1996 ES 300 with over 275K miles. Driving the ES 350 is really nice but I do notice a lot of wind noise coming from the driver's and passenger's window. One of these days I'll have to upgrade my 1996 ES 300...

I had a loaner for a week and drove from jersey to virginia and back. The dealer never mentioned a word to me.

I don't think they have any GPS tracking sysstem in the car to monitor for that. If you need to go out of state, their seems to be 2 possible solutions. One is to just don't tell them and go on as planned. The other more ethical way would be to tell the dealership your situation, return the loaner car, and ask them to rent you a rental loaner that doesn't have any restrictions on it. Chances are they will just waiver the rule and let you go out of state.

LMAO, Funniest reply to a post this year. Hands Down!! You're a wild dude. You remind me of the Mad Rapper who used to do skits on every Bad Boy album in the late 90's. Good stuff man.

As for GPS tracking the OP raised a good question. I could see a reason for them doing it. Though they most likely don't.

Audi fit Trackers to all their loan cars and demonstrators so it is possible that Lexus do likewise.

What did the SA state when he gave you the loaner? Usually the tell me you either don't have to return it filled with gas, or you do, and if you don't they will charge you $X.XX amount for gas. If you are not clearn, just given them a call.

They just handed me the key, and said ' see you on monday'

Even the state boundary thing... it's something i had to call to find out.
