DETROIT — A pair of Cadillac CTS-V racing cars will be sporting a new look as they pursue the 2007 SCCA Speed World Challenge manufacturers' championship. The Detroit automaker previewed the makeover on its Web site on Wednesday.
A key part of the makeover was adding the iconic Cadillac script to the black-and-red exterior. "We wanted to connect the look of our Team Cadillac CTS-V racing cars more closely with our 'Life, Liberty and the Pursuit' marketing campaign," said Liz Vanzura, Cadillac global marketing director.
The new look will be rolled out at the Cadillac/Mobil 1 Super Bowl Celebrity Grand Prix go-kart race in Miami on February 3.
Cadillac also announced that Lawson Aschenbach, the 2006 Speed GT champion, will join 2005 Speed GT champion Andy Pilgrim as full-season drivers on the Cadillac factory road-racing team this year.
What this means to you: With 2-foot-tall lettering on the sides of these cars, there'll be no mistaking that they are indeed Caddies.
