Awesome vid, engine definitely sounds fierce. Plus, they didn't even rev it to redline .
As for the LF-A, it will sound like a high-revving demon. The Lexus Japan website already teased us with the engine sound.

Chassis Code: USE20
Engine: 2UR-GSE
G head on a V block...a Toyota first?!?! I will investigate more.

I had a gut feeling that the legendary "G" heads would return on a Toyota vehicle once again, and what a return! ULEV-II emissions are also guaranteed, as is relatively good fuel economy. It will be interesting to see how these G heads differ from the F heads in the UR design. Did Toyota and Yamaha go with more race-style direct injectors on the G heads?
For anyone still having doubts, this is basically a guarantee that the IS-F will have WELL over 400HP, and WELL over 350 lb-ft. Rumoured estimates of 450HP/400 lb-ft are not far off at all.
And this also is proof that the IS-F's engine is not just a swap from the LS600h, but an exclusive engine with unique heads.
I'm already thinking of the performance and aftermarket potential the G heads will allow .
Just some food for thought: The 1UR-FSE achieves 380HP/367 lb-ft from 4.6L. That equates to 82.6HP/L, and 79.8 lb-ft/L. Extrapolate that to a 5.0L displacement, and you get 413HP and about 400 lb-ft torque. But the 2UR-GSE has more performance-oriented heads than the 1UR-FSE, and it also revs higher, so the IS-F will have at least 400 lb-ft, and at least 413HP.
