I found a low mileage car that claims 45k for 1981. But the carfax report I ran said:

A NAM title is issued when the owner discloses to a DMV mileage fraud, a broken odometer or that the actual mileage of this vehicle is unknown.

Mileage reported after this reading is potentially unreliable.

The seller said:

Vehicle mileage is believed to be actual; clean title is provided but affidavit was unclaimed.


Can any Toyota dealer run a VIN on this car. His ebay user name is lexis0700

He may be telling the truth but he may not know the history of the car. I'm waiting for his reply?

 

You can call a Toyota dealership SERVICE department and ask for service history (but ask nicely as they are not required to do this for you!). As long as they service at Toyota dealer it will log miles and dates of each service which will give you accurate mileage history. This is cannot be tampered with.
