I've seen the entire video, it is an XJ-8 supercharged.

Maybe the 745 pulls away from the LS because the later is slower?

Interesting video. LS engine sounds great. LS body roll? Not so much. Hopefully that wasn't an LS with AVS or touring package.

You wanna see a good AWD test, watch this.

(The first car is probably not AWD just to show it can't get anywhere going UP the ski slope)

I wonder if the LS was tested using ECT Power. Strange that the BMW was able to pull away from the LS, despite having a weaker engine. The LS was decisively faster than the supercharged Jag. So much for Car and Driver's comparison .

I dont think the ECT would make a difference in this race. Hel|, the ECT is just as fast as regular mode in a straight line.

Maybe the LS460's traction control is restricting the LS460 from going faster than it can. who knows.

Hmm, now that I think about it, it may have been VDIM limiting performance even more-so than usual due to the rain and treaterous conditions.

We are forgetting one other significant variable. The Drivers. The drivers may be the biggest difference in this race. This is particularly true in these rainy conditions. It depends on which one is the most risky and which one is simply the best driver and most experienced in racing on water.

After a Nascar race, who get's credited with the win? The driver of course.
Most don't care whether the race car was a Ford or Chevy.

I see they did not dare to include in the test the true offroader of Lexus, the LX, which I bet would've conquered that slope easily.

That's what the time attack in the scorecard is for, where the LS460 did superbly well, nearly matching the A8's AWD with just RWD.

Were talking about climbing ski slopes not actually off-roading in the sense of rock climbing and the LX handles like crap compared to the Allroad or X5 or RX.
