Yeah I would say just cut the wires off right below the connector then have it soldered on. I take it that you can do this since its really not that hard and you seem like a mr. fix it type of guy.
Thanks, you were right, had to hack off the whole crimp connector since there was zero chance the thick controller wires would go in even after snipping off the tubing. I did the 'western union' join and some solder but my soldering skills do leave a lot to be desired, although I'd like to blame my lame-o soldering iron.
I think I've seen that type of Brake Controller. What kind is it. One of my many side jobs when I was with FEMA was to install these on trucks.
