Poll: What is the Most Popular Non-Lexus Vehicle in CL?
I'm generally not a great one for starting polls, but I thought it would be interesting, just for the sake of CAR CHAT, to see what vehicle...or vehicles.....are most popular and most-talked about outside of Lexus.

The most popular vehicle for what? Like the non-lexus vehicle that gets discussed the most, or the non-lexus vehicle that probably has the most respect (whether admitted to or not) by the people here?
The vehicle that everybody here probably respects and wishes that Lexus could 'catch' I'd guess is the 3-series.
Almost anyone here who doesn't have a lexus logo tattooed on their forehead will tell you Lexus has still yet to come close to duplicating the man/machine feel that BMW does - especially with its 3-series... and especially the 335i and M3.
So I'd tend to guess that is among the most 'envied' designs/models among the lexus fans here.

It could be any / all of these and more... the vehicular topics of discussion are very much driven by the week's motor news... comparos, new model introductions, car show rollouts, etc.
The answer depends on the day

Domination...
I think the 3-Series carries BMW far too heavily. If it wasn't for the 3-Series (for its price and performance), BMW will not have the demand that makes it desireable and worth-the-price.
We talk about the 3-Series a lot because it represents BMW as a whole; and for Lexus to progress into "luxury performance" domination, it needs to invent something that will topple the 3-Series, as well as its evolution into other products by BMW.
As for the other cars on the list, they carry a lot of weight that challenge Lexus in general, but only the 3-Series challenges and dominates what Lexus has to offer in terms of "luxury performance" vehicles. It is this one reason alone why it's the most popular and relevant car to discuss in Car Chat.

I think some people are answering with their favorite non-lexus vehicle to talk about and not the most popular on CL as a whole.
But maybe that was the intended question and I misunderstood.

I would have said the Supra if it was included in the poll. I guess most of us consider it part of the family and don't think of it as another brand. If you can have the Camry on the poll, you can have the Supra. That's the car that gets discussed quite a bit around here. The 2JZ is one of the best engines ever created and sought after by many. The bold sleek look of the car was ahead of it's time. Yes, the Supra gets my vote.

Anyhow, catch you later, guys.......I'm off work today, and will be on my way shortly to more or less complete my review of the 2007 entry-level cars, if possible, with the Nissan Versa.
