I can vouch for this fact first hand. Back when I was younger my father purchased a 1986 Jaguar XJS V12. He intened on pulling the V12 and replacing it with a Corvette 350TPI from a 88 vette.

We removed the V12 and sold it to some guy that installed it in one of those Aircraft Taxi shuttles.

We installed the V8.. though the engine went in smoothly, the electrical was a nightmare.

i think you're going to have a lot of fun with the car...

Clarkson comments that every time he drives a Ford Mondeo---he wonders why anybody would drive anything else while paying so much more money.
(and that's a crazy compliment coming from Clarkson)

I'm pretty sure you won't have too much electrical trouble with the X-Type..the Ford Mondeo gets one of the best ratings in the industry for everything--including safety. My parents used to own a Ford Windstar LX some time ago... like...looong ago, and it was a great car (fit and finish was but it was very reliable nonetheless).

post pics of them rims when they're on!

You traded a Chevy for a Ford

I like the big bodied Jags, but nothing wrong with a mini-me Jag at all

Yeah..I know I'm not a ford fan at all, but the Jag looks distinctive enough that I don't think people will get the two confused

Congrats on your new ride! I am not big fan of any Jaguar cars! Good luck.

ANy car that came with the Lucas electrical system was c-r-a-p. My friend's family had a sterling (Acura in british clothes). All the japanese parts ran fine (engine tranny) the british parts rusted or cracked and ripped (sheet metal, interior) and the electrical was garbage the second he drove it home.

anyway, my colleague has the Jag. Nice little car. AWD system works well in deep snow and no real problems with the car as far as I can tell. He's had it for 2 years now and has driven it to work every day.
