i think its suppose to showcase how well the Legacy GT STI car can do against cars with as much as 140 MORE HP on a road course :)
weight is crucial on a track. that's why you see weak, yet nimble cars like the elise beating out much faster cars with a puny 1.8 liter engine. |
acutally, though i am not usre ont he celsior, the Stype R and the Fuga both weigh 500 or so lbs more than the legacy GT :) both those cares are around 4000 lbs while the LGT is around 3400-3500 depending on options...
but that track they are running isnt all THAT suited to a small nimble car, there are a few long straights where big HP cars like the fuga and the R can easily stretch their legs and pull away from the LGT :) in all honesty, i find this still a bit surprising, the STI tune LGT is basicailly a Spec B LGT with some other minor mods, and to be honest, a spec B, doesnt really handle all that well, especially comapred to say an STI :) b |
of course this test is not apples to apples.
the legacy, as mentioned, is a much more lighter car and would have a better weight/power ratio. I would love to see this is repeated with a S500 (W220) and a 745li, and a A8 4.2 and a XJ8. My guess is : 1st : 745i 2nd: LS430 3rd : A8 and so on ... |
It's time to test the new generations of sports sedans.

oopps... haha . i have no idea.
then maybe can i attribute it to the gearing, and just simply more mass around the track is harder to control ? |
That fuga has a stroker.
