Weight gain means lower gas mileage
I am 6'1" and recently dropped from ~205 to, as recent as this morning 188. I just have some barely visible fat right on my belly and 'love handles' now - might be able to drop to 185 but I don't know if pushing myself to be that lean is healthy.
Anyhow... I wonder what appreciable difference in mileage my car has experienced with 17 lost pounds? I bet it'd be hard to measure.
Not to mention at any given time I have at least 20-30 pounds of spare computer parts and network testing equipment in my trunk, which probably doesn't help either. Oh well.
Once I took my spare tire and all the other crap I possibly could remove (even floormats) out of out of my GS400 sometimes but never could tell any difference in the way it drove.

The softer the suspension and tires ensure that you will feel the effects of being pushed around more. Taking four cars that I have plenty of experience with, the 330i and S2000, you feel very little effect from passing semis thanks to stiffer suspension and stiffer performance tires. In the ES330 & IS250, the effect is amplified thanks to softer suspension and tires.
