Default AUDI Working on a R4 ?

Audi is considering a new performance oriented vehicle that will likely be based on the TT Coupe’s underpinnings. The new small Audi, which could pick up the R4 label, will be a direct competitor to BMW’s upcoming Z2 roadster. However, the R4 might even rival the redesigned BMW Z4 scheduled for release in 2009 in both size and performance.

This rendering of the R4 from German publication Autobild, shows the aggressive design that the engineers are going for. Other giveaways are the fixed roof and compact cabin that make this car a strict two-seater coupe. Engine options are likely to be the same as the TT, but a range-topping model could feature a high output turbo V6 producing more that 300hp.

Nice.

Reminds me of some of the lines of the Mazda RX8.
